ATTICUS ATTORNEY SEO

An SEO practice built for the bar-rule and directory-ecosystem layer of attorney work.

Atticus runs SEO programs for U.S. attorneys and law firms. The differentiator across every engagement is bar-rule literacy and directory-ecosystem fluency. We know which ABA Model Rules apply to which advertising surface, where Florida Subchapter 4-7 diverges from the ABA baseline, how the Internet Brands syndicate consolidates citation flow across Avvo and Martindale, and how the LegalService schema bundle nests Person nodes per attorney.

What we do

Seven service surfaces. Directory citation management across the consolidated syndicate plus Justia and Super Lawyers. Schema architecture nesting LegalService and Person. Local SEO that clears Google's one-listing-per-staffed-office policy and Florida Rule 4-7.12. Link acquisition that clears Rule 5.4(a). Lead-generation structuring that clears Rule 7.2(b). Disclaimer remediation under Rule 7.1 and Florida Rule 4-7.13. AI-content compliance under the Florida Bar January 2024 and California State Bar November 2023 guidelines. Each grounded in regulatory citation rather than marketing-fluff framing.

Why the regulatory layer is load-bearing

Attorney marketing is one of a small set of B2B verticals where the SEO surface is also a regulatory surface. ABA Model Rule 7.1 governs every commercial communication a firm publishes. Florida Subchapter 4-7 makes the standard operationally enforceable through specific subchapter requirements: 4-7.13 on case-results disclaimers, 4-7.14 on fee disclosures, 4-7.18 on PI direct-mail 30-day blackouts, 4-7.20 on the website pre-filing exemption that lets SEO content iterate without the 20-day pre-filing requirement that applies to TV and radio.

State variation matters. California aligned its professional-responsibility rules to the ABA framework in November 2018. Florida runs a strict-state baseline. Texas and New York hold distinct positions on lead-aggregator structuring. Multi-state firms have to clear the strictest jurisdiction any attorney holds bar admission in. We build to the strict-state baseline so the firm clears every jurisdiction it operates in. Firms searching for an attorney seo company that already reads to the strictest jurisdiction by default land here.

How we engage

Most engagements run as monthly retainers shaped to where the work is needed. A solo attorney with thin Local Pack visibility gets a GBP architecture and category-specificity program designed around Rule 4-7.12. A small firm operating across Florida and California gets the strictest-state baseline plus the California 2018 aligned framework. A mid-market multi-office firm gets the nested LegalService schema, the Internet Brands syndicate cleanup, and the multi-jurisdictional disclaimer architecture. An in-house counsel team running corporate SEO gets the RFP-driven content architecture that B2B-shape practice areas require.

We do not ship templated SEO that ignores the bar-rule layer, testimonial blocks that trigger Rule 7.1 exposure for the firm itself, or lead-aggregator integrations that cross Rule 5.4(a). The work is meant to survive a Florida Bar grievance committee review, a multi-state bar-counsel inquiry, and the next algorithm update.
